The wetlands at Arbor Hills are part of a complex of seasonal pools and permanent ponds in the northeast area of the city. The park is a wedge of woods and wetlands and has some special features that are rare in Ann Arbor’s parks, such as a portion of small buttonbush swamp, woods that are at least 75 years old, and a vernal pool. The gray treefrogs and wood frogs living and breeding at Arbor Hills are some of the most vociferous (loud and insistent) in Ann Arbor’s natural areas. Help keep this area healthy for the frogs and all the other beings in the watershed by removing invasive shrubs.
Meet at the park entrance at the end of Ashburnam Rd. Workday sites have unpaved trails and require going off-trail.
Preregister through VolunteerHub so NAP can plan on enough staff and supplies for a safe and successful event. For your safety, wear long pants, tall socks, and closed-toe shoes. All minors should be accompanied by a guardian. More information: How to prepare for a NAP workday (PDF).
