Description: Join us for an early look at the proposed ‘Excelsior’ Perch Lake addition to Upper Manistee Headwaters: The Milock Family Nature Preserve! Join us to experience the natural habitat for the hundreds of plant and animal species that call this remarkable place home, including a view of Perch Lake and the surrounding wetlands, and learn about the Conservancy’s effort to add this 342-acre parcel to the preserve.

The Basics: Come prepared with hiking gear, water, and your curiosity!

The Conservancy follows state, federal and CDC guidelines for COVID-19 and may modify or cancel this event at any time. Do not participate in any activity if you were recently exposed (within 10 days) to someone with COVID-19, have recently (within 10 days) been diagnosed with COVID-19.

What should I bring?
Dress for the weather
Sturdy, close-toed shoes recommended
Consider bringing your binoculars or a camera
Consider bringing a reusable water bottle and some snacks
Consider bringing hiking poles if you prefer

Directions:
The address is approximately at 3004 Darke Rd, Kalkaska MI 49646. Turn right onto the driveway directly across from Myers Rd and drive about ¼ mile to the end of drive where we’ll gather for the hike.

Registration is not required but is appreciated. Registered participants will be notified of any modifications or cancellations via email.
