Help Plant a Butterfly Garden
September 21, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm EDT
An event every day that begins at 10:00 am, repeating until September 22, 2022

Alongside our Natural Resources staff, join us in helping the environment while exploring new places. Volunteers are an essential part in helping to restore and conserve our natural areas. Thanks to a grant from Ford, we can improve the butterfly viewing area at Oakwoods Metropark with more pollinator-friendly flowers but need your help to get them planted.
All necessary tools and equipment will be provided, as well as water and snacks. We will provide gloves and trowels, but feel free to bring your own if you have them. Please be sure to dress for working outdoors and in areas that may include poison ivy and/or thorns (long pants, layered clothing, closed-toe shoes, rain gear, hat, sunscreen, etc.).
Meet Metroparks staff at the Butterfly Viewing Area within Oakwoods Metropark (about 2.25 mile drive past the park entrance). Let the gate staff know you are volunteering at the Butterfly Garden for free entry into the park for this event.
