Join us Saturday, May 11 at 10:00 AM. to walk in the Michigan Audubon Kate Palmer Sanctuary in Spring Arbor Township. Parking is on O’Brien Rd., near the intersection of McCain Rd. This Sanctuary is regarded by many Jackson County naturalists and botanists to be the richest public woodland in the area for wildflowers. The hike will start promptly at 10 AM. Bring a lunch, and afterwards we will have an opportunity to ask our educators questions about the flowers, wildlife and terrain.
We will be accompanied by environmental educator Monica Day who will be on hand to identify wildflowers, and answer questions. We are also happy to have the past Kate Palmer steward Pegg Clevenger with us as well. Pegg, as a Jackson Audubon member, along with Monica will also help identify birds.
Perfect way to kick off the Mothers Day weekend! A light drizzle won’t deter us, but steady rain will move our hike to Saturday, May 18
