Karner Blue Butterfly Prairie Walks
June 18, 2022 @ 10:30 am - 1:00 pm CDT

Join Golden Sands RC&D and partners for TWO prairie walks on private property near Hartman Creek State Park to learn about the federally endangered karner blue butterfly, invasive species, prairie management, and what you can do to get involved. This is the perfect opportunity to get outside and observe the benefits of property management!
This event will be held on TWO SEPARATE DAYS:
Day 1 – Newly Restored Prairie
Saturday, June 18th, 2022
10:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Day 2 – Established Prairie
Saturday, June 19th, 2022
8:00 AM – 10:30 AM
The difference between these two days is that one is a newly restored prairie and the other is a prairie that’s had restoration in progress for years! Both events will have speakers, prairie walks, and you could possibly get to see the federally-endangered karner blue butterfly!
If you’re interested in attending one or both of these events, please email jacob.fluur@goldensandsrcd.org with which day(s) you’d like to attend.
These are coming up soon, so if you can’t attend or want to help us spread the word, please tell others, forward this email, or share our event on Facebook to help us get more people out there!
