Position Description (include how to apply):
The primary focus of this position is to assist in the development and management of HWPI’s community engagement strategy and process. The Coordinator will have responsibility for donor and outreach events, and the development of a robust volunteer program. The Coordinator will also be fully integrated within all primary HWPI activities. This position is full-time, exempt and reports to the Executive Director.
Assists in the development of the organization’s community engagement strategy and outreach events.
As a part of the HWPI team, participates in planning and execution of community and donor events from start to finish.
Cultivates relationships with community partners and volunteers.
Contributes to the strategic, creative thinking on how to most effectively engage volunteers.
Determines the event materials, may design materials, and maintains an appropriate inventory.
Develops volunteer recruitment and retention plan.
Creates volunteer training materials and conducts volunteer training sessions.
Provides support and backup to other HWPI staff and functions, including development activities.
Assists in the development of communications materials and strategies for the organization.
Tracks and manages volunteer and events data.
Bachelor’s Degree (required), public relations or marketing preferred.
A minimum of 5 years work experience.
Experience in building constituent relationships, recruiting and managing volunteers, and networking.
Experience with basic technology, including scheduling tools, social media, Google Docs and CRM systems.
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Flexibility in work hours required to meet the events schedule and priorities of the organization.
