Service area: Oakland County (Michigan)
About us: The Oakland County Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (CISMA) was established in December 2014 by 19 partners. Today the partnership has grown to over 40 members including local governments, county governments, non-profit organizations, and universities.
We are focused on managing the spread of ten priority (and twenty early-detection) invasive species including: Bittersweet (Celastrus orbiculatus); Buckthorns, common and glossy (Rhamnus cathartica, Frangula alnus); Common reed (Phragmites australis); Garlic mustard (Alliaria petiolata); Invasive honeysuckles (Lonicera sp.); Japanese barberry (Berberis thunbergii); Knotweeds, Japanese, giant and Bohemian (Fallopia sp.); Parsnip, wild (Pastinaca sativa); Swallowworts, black and pale (Cynanchum sp.); Tree of heaven (Alianthus altissima)
