Service area: The headwaters of the Grand and Raisin watersheds in parts of Hillsdale, Jackson, Lenawee and Washtenaw counties (Michigan)
About us: Conceived to promote the science and art of land restoration, the Grand-Raisin Cluster (GRC) was formed in late 2022. Each year since, we have offered public workshops on subjects of interest to those who would explore and interact with native habitats.
Now the GRCC, we have two main areas of focus: 1) on the ground conservation action and planning, and 2) educating community members in conservation issues, techniques and other relevant topics. The GRCC provides unique educational opportunities through events, workshops, activities and online networking to share ideas, information, skills and resources to enable local groups to increase their capacity to care for local land and water.
Participating organizations include: Crossroads Farm and Wildlife Association; Dahlem Environmental Education Center ; Grand River Environmental Action Team; Hidden Lake Gardens; Iron Creek Land Community; Jackson Audubon Society; Jackson County Conservation District; Jackson Lenawee Washtenaw CISMA; Legacy Land Conservancy ; Lenawee Conservation District; Michigan Department of Natural Resources; Michigan Nature Association; Oh These Irish Hills!; Open Grown School; River Raisin Watershed Council; The Nature Conservancy; Upper Grand River Watershed Alliance; Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation; YMCA Storer Camps; Private Landowners
