The Southwest Corner Cluster (SWCC) of the Stewardship Network serves organizations and individuals in the southwest region of Michigan. Lead organizations of the SWCC include: the Southwest Michigan Land Conservancy; The Michigan Department of Natural Resources Land Owner Incentive Program, Stewardship Program, Kalamazoo Nature Center, and Fort Custer Training Center Environmental Section; and The Nature Conservancy. These and other organizations and individuals combine resources, efforts, knowledge, and experience in order to enhance stewardship capacity and on the ground efforts at land management and restoration.

Hot Cocoa Stroll

Location: Kleinstuck Preserve (meet at 1401 Cherry Street, Kalamazoo)
Held in partnership with the Stewards of Kleinstuck
Join us for an off-the-beaten-path exploration of Kleinstuck, to areas only accessible in the frozen winter months. We’ll search for animal tracks in the snow to see what critters are out and about this time of year. Come prepared to wade through deep snow (snowshoes welcome)! Hot cocoa will be provided. Free and open to the public.
Movie Night! Green Fire: Aldo Leopold and a Land Ethic for Our Time

WMU’s Little Theatre, at the corner of Oakland Drive and Oliver Lane. $5/person; $3/students. Join us for the Kalamazoo premiere of the first full-length, high definition documentary film ever made about legendary environmentalist Aldo Leopold, Green Fire highlights Leopold’s extraordinary career, tracing how he shaped and influenced the modern environmental movement. Leopold remains relevant today, inspiring projects all over the country that connect people and land.

Garlic Mustard Pull Challenge
Garlic mustard is an invasive plant that threatens the abundant wildflowers and diverse Michigan woods. Each spring (April through June) the Stewardship Network has a Garlic Mustard Pull Challenge among its local clusters.
