6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Kick-Off Meeting

Join us in our grassroots efforts to preserve and enhance the natural areas in our three-couty region. Several committed partners in our area have begun the process of starting a Stewardship Cluster with the Stewardship Network. Through the cooperation of organizations, individuals, and businesses, we will be able to share ideas, resources, and information regarding preservation and restoration. Based on the proven program developed by the Stewardship Network, the success of our new cluster will be grassroots efforts from people like you.

How can I be involved?

Clusters are grassroots efforts that need the involvement of a variety of people interested in stewardship. The purpose of the cluster is to connect like-minded people and the resources they can bring to the effort. The needs of Cluster members and their resources will combine to help restore and manage our natural areas.

Volunteers take pride in the results of a Garlic Mustard pull this spring.

What is the Kick Off?

The intent of the kick off is to bring people interested in land stewardship from around the Shiawassee, Genesee and Lapeer areas together to share with them the benefits associated with the Stewardship Network and joining a local cluster. Most importantly, the Kick Off is a venue for those involved to discuss what they would want and need from a Stewardship Cluster. Examples include educational workdays, invasive removal workdays, shared work crews, topics for webcasts and much more! We could then focus on the critical issues and areas by connecting with each other, resulting in a more productive effort.

The Kick Off is an introduction – a chance to learn about the program and share your thoughts. From this meeting you can determine your level of future involvement with our Stewardship Cluster.
